7. Tower of Power
If you consider yourself to be the ultimate adrenaline junkie, then this is the ride for you. Tower of power in Siam Park, Spain is a whopping 91-feet high and you can slide down at speeds reaching up to 80 km/hour.
And if that’s not enough, you then slide down inside the hidden shark tank below, where you’ll find an aquarium filled with marine life and sharks checking you out from above. So be it, heights, speed, sharks, this near-vertical 28-meter waterslide is all you need this summer to get you pumped up.
6. Scorpion’s Tail
The Developers of this awesome slide are the same brilliant people who created the famous Aqua Loop. The Scorpion’s Tail waterslide in Wisconsin is a mammoth 10-stories high and 400-feet long.
Starting with a trap door, the first near-vertical drop takes you down so quick that you’ll be moving at a rate faster than 50-feet per second. Next, you’ll be inside a large vertical loop which looks like the tail of a scorpion, and it will send you flying down in a twisty ride to the pool below.
So, don’t miss out on riding this one – you won’t regret it.
5. Summit Plummet
It’s all in the name. This winter themed slide is one of the tallest and fastest in the world. Perhaps, this jaw-dropping waterslide’s not for the faint-hearted people. Located in Orlando, Florida, this free fall drop takes you down an incredible 12-storeys steep slope.
It’s so vertical that probably you won’t even see where you’re heading until you get there. This will make you feel like you’re flying down the chute at an insane speed. And that’s the reason it’s also called as ‘ski jump’.
After taking the plunge down and going through a dark tunnel, you will splash into the snow water for safe landing. The ride also displays the speed at which you were travelling, using a digital stop clock at the bottom. So, get yourself ready for this 62-miles per hour beast.
4. Tantrum Alley
Tantrum Alley in Dubai has two large sections of downhill waterslides and three exciting tornadoes. So, for those who love dizzy rides, this will surely excite them.
First you go in a tube that seats up to 4 people, and then travel downhill to enter the first tornado, where you slide back and forth several times. The tube then circles around and around in the eye of the storm, before exiting and hitting the second and third tornados, after which you splash out into the pool.
This topsy-turvy ride is fast, fun and will surely make you go in again and again.
3. Insano
Just looking at this slide will make you nervous and that’s the reason it’s called Insano which is Italian name for “insane”.
Located in Brazil, the once tallest water slide in the world stands at a whopping 135-feet tall and goes up to speeds of 65-miles per hour. Just the steep drop of this slide is scary enough for you to take a back seat, but if you think you can handle it, then by all means climb up there and take the plunge.
Insano is a popular part of the largest water park in all of Latin America, the Beach Park, a tourist resort situated on the Porto das Dunas beach.
2. L2
L2 is the world’s first double-looping water slide. And it’s waiting for you to conquer it, at the Wave in the Wörgl Waterworld, Austria.
At over 400 feet tall, this waterslide has a trap-door, and several scary loops and turns. And the best part of this slide is that you get a breathtaking view of the Alps right before you plummet down to the bottom.
1. Verruckt
The Verrückt waterslide in Kansas City lives up to its name, as “Verrückt” is a German name for “insane”. The scary thing about this water slide is the presence of not one, but two crazy vertical drops.
After going over the first massive drop, you’ll soar over a second “mini” hill that is a staggering 50 feet tall. Then, you will have to trudge up 264 steps to the top. After getting into a four-person raft, you’ll be dropped 17 storeys at an insane 62 miles per hour, and then sent over a hump, and then back down again.
Making it the scariest experience of your life. At 168 feet tall, this waterslide in Kansas City is by far, the world’s tallest waterslide. However, this slide was permanently shut down in 2016, after a young 10-year-old boy died on the ride.
